Somenath Mahato

Profile

Somenath Mahato was born in Purulia, India. And carried out his BSc in Chemistry from Jagannath Kishore College and MSc in Chemistry from the Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University. He completed his master’s project under the supervision of Dr. Jayanta Maity. He is currently pursuing his doctoral research under the guidance of Dr. Santanu Panda in IIT Kharagpur. His research involved organoboron chemistry and photoredox chemistry, with a particular focus on vicinal 1,2-bis boronic esters. His primary objective is to develop strategies for the selective functionalization of 1,2-bis boronic esters. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, listening music, and reading novels.
